We can talk about it, complain about it or write an essay about it, but if you really want to change things, sometimes you just have to do it. I have put together this list of worthy websites that will help you get started. I have to mention here that there is a responsibility to acting. That is to be sure you are doing more good than harm. I would encourage everyone to research as much as you can...decide what you are willing to do...and then...

Adbusters - Artists, activists, writers, students and educators who's mission is to topple existing power structures through the new social activist movement.

Amnesty International - A worldwide campaigning movement to promote human rights. With over 1 million members in 162 countries and territories, they have many opportunities for committed volunteers.

A.N.S.W.E.R. - (Act Now to Stop War and End Racicism) This group is sponsoring peace rallies all around the country protesting the unilateral intentions of Bush to topple Iraq. This group has a very strong and impressive coalition.

Change The World - My webpage devoted to taking personal responsibility for changing the world.

Corpwatch - Monitors transnational corporations and their impact on the ecology, society and economy.

Dawn - A network of women scholars and activists working toward equality for women.

Foundation for Ethics and Meaning - This site challenges the cultural and economic status quo and encourages a new standard of cooperation among all people.

Greenpeace - This world renowned campaigning organization uses non-violent confrontation to expose and force solutions to potential and existing environmental problems.

Global Exchange - A good place to do some research and find some grassroots movements to work with.

International Forum on Globalization - IFG is a leading international voice directing public and media attention on the perils of economic globalization.

Mother Jones - An independent non-profit magazine that focuses on issues of social justice, environment and politics.

Michael Moore - Activism comes in all forms.

Ruckus Society - Training ground for activists to enable them to increase effectiveness through presentation.

Social Investment Forum - Comprehensive information and contacts for socially responsible investing.

Sweatshop Watch - A coalition of labor, community, civil rights, immigrant rights, women's, religious and student organizations committed to eliminating sweatshop conditions in the global garment industry.

Tni - An international network of activist-scholars devoted to finding viable solutions to global conflicts such as social injustice, environmental degradation and world conflict.

Tolerance - Organization that takes action against hate groups and promotes and encourages tolerance in the workplace, schools, homes and communities.

World Development Movement - Formed in 1970, the WDM is an organization that works to change policy within the system itself. This very successful organization has had influence on some of the biggest corporate entities creating a better environment for workers and campaigning on behalf of abused women, victimization on union leaders and unsafe environmental practices.
